  • Sunday 31st the Metro Line between London and Shenfield will become part of the Transport for London network.
  • 47 805 and 47 790 were on the short set on Friday - not for much longer though as the 37/4 top and tail services begin from next weekend.
  • As seen above with a Class 57 on a Driver training run, The Cumbrian Coast services will start from tomorrow.

  • Pictured right, by Robert Lewis, is Class 73 locomotive 73 952 that was recently painted in to Network Rail yellow. Here it is seen on 16/5/15 at Kidderminster (SVR).
  • Yesterday, DRS 57 306 hauled the first refurbished Class 375 375 301 from Derby to Ramsgate in the new blue livery inspired by the "Highspeed" livery carried on Class 395 EMU. Inside the train has recieved a new colour scheme and new seat covers to make a cleaner interior - all Class 375's should have this work completed between now onwards and 2018!
  • West Coast Railways made their return on Monday 11th for the Jacobite season while on Friday 15th Britannia went from Westbury to Kingswear and return!
  • Chiltern had a blow with two of their DRS Class 68's failing on Friday (68 012/015).  68 012 was dragged in a top and tail mode with Class 57's (57 310/312) from Wembley back to Crewe Gresty Bridge yesterday. The problem with 68 012 is believed to be a inverter problem. Both photos are copyrighted to Ian Ballinger.

  • Recently 3 re-modified Class 73's (73 961, 73 963 and 73 964) visited Eastleigh from Tonbridge West Yard. Thanks to C&A Transport Photography for sending them in, both phots are ©.

  • Finally it's been in the news from Wednesday onwards, Network Rail Workers are to strike for 24 hours from 17:00 on Monday 25th May (Bank Holiday) for 24 hours in a row over jobs and pay - this being the first UK-wide rail strike in 20 years. Talks could be held during the lead up to this happening but if the strike occurs then passengers could be impacted on the Bank Holiday Monday itself and the day afterwards.
