Week Review 26.07.2015

Hi all! Harry and Liam here! What a week it has been! In general news, US President Obama visited Kenya, Lord Sewel has quit from the Houses of Parliament as Deputy Speaker after allegedly taking drugs, and Alex Sammond has said that a second independance referendum for Scotland is inevitable. Railway-wise, Harry has helped me out with the Week Review this week, and the news is as follows....

NEWS FLASH:

Ian Sharman (C)
This week, the loanee Class 37s (hauling MK2 stock) began operating their additional Summer diagram, which will be operating on both Mondays and Fridays until September. These extra services are the 0906, 1025 and 1318 Norwich to Great Yarmouth (direct) and return at 09:52, 1112 and 1353. The 37s services are on top of the additional Saturday services during the Summer also operated by these locos.  However, the extra 14:25 Norwich to Great Yarmouth and 15:42 return services have been operated by 170s this week. They are expected to continue this trend until September (Monday and Fridays only also).

Staying with Abellio Greater Anglia, Class 170 Diagrams are now available on our page. They've been added here.

Yesterday, WCR (West Coast Rail) visited the region. 47786 (Roy Castle) & 47851 were captured by Ian Sharman on the 06:30 Huddersfield to Great Yarmouth. Here, it's seen arriving at Great Yarmouth Platform 4.

Concerns have arisen regarding the Norwich to London in 90 Minutes, but it is possible

(C) Harry - MK2s (and 47 traction) on loan from DRS for the Hauled Set.
90015 (an Abellio Greater Anglia Loco) is at repaint. More to follow on Monday in a Fleet Update from Harry. Meanwhile, Coach Numbers (B, C, D, E, etc..) are beginning to appear on our latest Abellio GreaterAnglia FleetList (we're adding these for InterCity Formation Stock) and an Updated FleetList for AbellioGreaterAnglia is now on our page.

Slightly different to the 378s, you could say.
5919, an MK2 which recently formed the DRS loanee Short Set, is back in the region. It returned yesterday to Crown Point. We assume it's replacing another carriage in the Short Set fleet.

The ThamesLink Class 387 Diagrams have been removed from the page. This marks the arrival of all 29 of the Class 387/1s, which means the majority of services are Class 377 or 387/1 ElectroStars

166204 (a First Great Western Class 166 DMU) is the first to arrive to Reading Traincare Depot in the new Great Western Railway (GWR) livery, as seen below. It returned to the depot on Thursday, and started service on Friday.

Detail here about the 387s for GWR, as they replace many units on services  around the network .

However, they'll be staying on the Paddington to Reading route a bit longer as their transfer is delayed. More tomorrow from Harry.
