Somerset Trip Photo Review ~ Part 1
Hello, Lewis here. This post is part 1 of my trip down to the West Country, Somerset specifically in photographs.
The next photograph is something similar to the previous shot, taken from the same bridge but this time through a different hole on the opposite side of the bridge. a Cross Country Voyager is seen forming a Southbound service.
In this photograph, XC 43303 is seen pausing at Taunton with a service from the North to Plymouth. The majority of services operated by Cross Country to South West are worked by Cass 220/221 Voyagers but there are a handful of HST diagrams.
Freightliner Heavy Haul 66523 is seen slowly arriving at Taunton nearing its destination with a freight service bound for Fairwater Yard from Westbury.
An interesting combination in the form of First Great Western 153380 seen coupled to 158958 having arrived with the 12:00 from Bristol Temple Meads. FGW Class 153's are set to depart the Great Western franchise once replaced.
Steam locomotive 70000 Britannia can be viewed arriving at the Somerset seaside town of Weston-super-Mare with the return working of The Torbay Express from Kingswear heading back to Bristol Temple Meads.
Another view of 70000 Britannia pausing at Weston-super-Mare to drop off passengers returning from Kingswear.
More from Weston-super-Mare, a station that sees a handful of HST services direct to/from London Paddington. Here, First Great Western 43020 is seen departing Weston-super-Mare heading back towards London.
First Great Western HST 43020 resting at Weston-super-Mare prior to working back towards London.
