Here's this week's news;
- The Construction bidding process for the HS2 Phase 1 has begun.
- 66 757 was named "West Somerset Railway" this weekend, as seen in this picture to the right.
- The transformed Birmingham New Street has fully reopened from it's estimated £750m refurbishment which includes a new station concourse, atrium and Grand Central shopping Complex.

- The first three refurbished Class 73's (73 961-963) have entered official service following the agreement of a 10 year lease between GB Railfreight and Network Rail. The changes to the Class 73's means Network Rail/GBRF will be able to cover a much wider area for engineering possessions and maintaining the network.
- 170 203 has been reported to have been taken to Loughborough from Norwich Crown Point this weekend.
- 57 008 is currently or was parked at Norwich, presumably for RHTT stock moves.

- East Midlands Trains has announced it's extended it's technical services partnership with Bombardier to March 2018 (Bombardier will continue to maintain the fleet of DEMU's.)
- Finally, it's been one week since FGW rebranded as GWR and the Green HST was unveiled on Monday to the public. The set has been to Wales, Devon, Swindon, Bristol and London.
