ANGLIA ~ Class 47's return to Anglia
As a result of 47805 failing, 47818 replaced it and is seen on Thursday 22nd October at the unlikely location of Southend Victoria. The RHTT is scheduled to wait here for approximately 40 minutes and then return towards Shenfield, offering plenty of time for photographs. It is captured preparing to depart.
Only a few weeks ago on Wednesday 30th September, 47818 visited the Southend Victoria line hauling inspection saloon 975025 'Caroline'. They were working the 08:02 Richmond to Norwich visiting most of the c2c network and the Great Easter Mainline.
An unusual sight of a Class 47 face to face with a Class 321 at the even more unusual location of Southend Victoria. The RHTT is booked to stop at platform 2 of Southend where an 8 carriage Class 321 can usually also be found.
After catching the pair at Southend Victoria, a short 2 minute journey to the rarely photographed location Prittlewell, the first station after Southend, was in order. This time, 47818 is leading the RHTT wagons and 47828 on the rear through Prittlewell heading towards Shenfield.
