EAST ANGLIA ~ General Updates

Network Rail Media
Morning! Harry signing on to provide the latest rail news for the Anglia region.

Firstly, we highlight that the NetworkRail 'High Output Ballast Machinery' will move on at the end of December 2015, as reported previously here on TheGBRailScene. This progression follows the announcement that the upgrades on the Great Eastern Mainline between Norwich to London are almost complete, including at Diss, Stowmarket, Ipswich, Colchester and Chelmsford.

The HOBC machine will run on Saturday evenings in Spring/Summer 2016 on the Ely to Peterborough route, aiming to create a smoother more efficient journey on a safe, secure, and well-drained track bed. When not in use, the ballast machine will be stored, maintained and restocked at Parkeston Quay Freight Yard in Harwich, Essex.

Also to announce is that Andy reports that 90009 (we reported it going away), which is at Toton to resolve power problems, has now been repainted into the AGA livery and is now at Crewe for testing. We assume it will be back on Anglia soil towards the end of the month, leaving just 90003/90008 (currently NXEA livery) and 90007 (currently ONE livery) to be repainted.

Great Yarmouth, Felixstowe and Sudbury branch services resumed this week following a lack of stock last week. The Ipswich/Ely/Peterborough route resumes tomorrow.

The remaining news stories regarding East Anglia were in our Weekly Review. Jacob's here tomorrow!
