Stock Focus ~ The 142 Pacers

Well, the pacers are going out the door soon, so I thought i would give you a few facts about the Pacer trains
Engines
In order to power the 48 tonnes of trains it is powered by a Cummins 6-cylinder 10-litre engine producing 225 horse power with 2100 RPM up to 75 MPH. It uses a hydralic transmission
Dimensions
Each carriage is 15.55 metres long, 2.8 metres wide and 3.86 metres tall. the wheels are 9 metres apart.
Other things
- They use an air braking system
- They are fitted with both AWS & TPWS
- They have BSI couplers
- they are mechanically compatible with 143's, 144's, 150/1's, 150/2's, 153's, 155's, 156's, 158's; 170's
So all in all this was a bit of a short post but lets see what happens when the pacers get replaced - we already know of a new fleet, but is it just North West pacers ready to go? We'll know more this upcoming year.
