Class 700: Photo Selection

Welcome Back. Today, We Take A Look At Some Photos From Thameslink, Of Their Own Class 700 Units Which Begin To Take To The Tracks In South Easterly England....

A stock focus of these units can be found  here if you missed it, as this will summarise the majority of train specifications and features already announced.

All I will state about these units (in roughly 50 words) are that they are Class 700s, built by Siemens, are more suitable for the audience, have lots of gadgets and features, are cutting edge, used primarily on the Bedford-Brighton route and are in the 2+2 style seating. Phew! Wow!
Govia Thameslink Railway Chief Executive Charles Horton said: “Not only will many of these trains be longer and more spacious, they’ll be cutting edge with real-time information from around the network and the Tube, and excellent facilities for people with disabilities."
Rail Minister Claire Perry said: “This is another significant milestone for the multi-billion pound Thameslink Programme. Projects like this show how our record £40 billion investment in the railways is delivering better journeys for passengers across the South East and beyond. I look forward to seeing the improvements to passengers’ journeys as these trains are introduced to the Thameslink network.”
Above: As you can see, there's ease of access for all! Plus the wheelchair area is even highlighted by exterior vinyls! Ramps can easily be set-up, whilst a dedicated wheelchair space means the journey can be hassle free as users are reassured that there's room especially for them.

Furthermore, because the entrance is large, you don't get people obstructing exits and customers can board and alight quicker, assisting in a prompt yet safe despatch process. Good thinking!

Right: Comfortable  seating, standing room, spacious interior, wide vestibules and aisles, efficient lighting, shiny  floor, suitable for purpose, bags full (pardon the pun) of luggage space, live CIS screens, a large DDA suitable toilet...

Just a short post today from me, as I'm covering. I'm back on Saturday and Sunday, plus the following Monday and Tuesday! Harry.
