10/08/2016: South East (And Metro) News Summary
Harry Here, for a Rail News Summary For London, South East England and East Anglia....
First, Anglia. A thumper went down the Great Eastern Mainline last month off to Sheringham. Plus another uncommon site was the Network Rail test train at Lowestoft which doesn't visit regularly.
On 28th July an AGA class 156 was unveiled at Ipswich and Lowestoft with East Suffolk Line branding meaning there are now 4 types of stickers for the rural network as reported: Wherry Line goes from Yarmouth via Acle or Berney Arms or Lowestoft via Somerleyton to Norwich, Bittern Line from Sheringham and Cromer to Norwich, Gainsborough Sudbury Line and the East Suffolk Line.
London Overground have sent 321413 and 321414 to overhaul - following a short term sublease from ScotRail. These 4-car (ex London Midland) units are being converted into 3-car 320s, as reported previously.
Finally, a £1 billion investment to Tyne and Wear Metro in Newcastle as new trains are planned, and to show one off the previous London Midland 321s now as 320s at ScotRail (321417 was even loaned to AGA if you remember, with 413/414 at London Overground).
